Heroes to me are people who have changed your life dramatically; people who have given you a different perspective of the world. Heroes help you through the tough times and keep a smile on your face even when you feel tears coming down from your eyes. There has only been one person that has done that to me and that would be Derrick Rose. He has helped me through so much and changed the person that I am. Whenever I’m pissed off, annoyed, or sad I think about the hard times he had as a kid and I feel guilty because I don’t have it as hard as him, or I can relate sometimes too. Just having someone that make you feel at peace with yourself and the world can change you. That’s what Derrick Rose has done to me. He has changed me as a person. He inspired me to play basketball, and ever since then, basketball has been my escape. I find it so amazing that although such a serious injury has caused him to miss up to a year of basketball, he’s still so optimistic and he still has so much hope in god and himself. This will definitely make people who are currently rehabilitating from injuries push themselves to their fullest every day. Derrick Rose saved me. Saved me from everything. I was such an unhappy person who wasn’t herself at all. I was so insecure, so lost in life. But now, I’m not. I owe all of that to him. He’s brought me closer to god, my family and my friends. I love you so much Derrick words can’t even describe. Have an amazing twenty-fourth birthday Pooh. It’s been amazing seeing you mature and grow as a player and person. I can’t wait until you recover and shock the whole league. I will be waiting.
